Our First Market

This September, we joined our very first market. Thank you to Toronto Artisan Market for having us! Trinity Bellwoods Park was a lovely place to spend the day, with plenty of sunshine and green space all around.
After months of making things in the workshop, we finally had the chance to bring our work out into the world and hear what people thought.
We weren't quite sure what to expect, so it was a pleasant surprise to see so many people stop by our booth. Visitors were curious about the cups, asked questions, and shared some very kind words. Wei was especially happy to hear the feedback. He had spent months working on his designs, and seeing people respond to them gave him a little more confidence in his work. Thank you to everyone who stopped by!
We also spent some time thinking about our display. We brought a few branches from the workshop and hung the cups from them, hoping to catch people's attention. We added some flowers, and the sunshine did the rest.
There were a few things we'd do differently next time. A POS system, for one. We relied on e-transfers this time and quickly realized that not everyone finds them convenient.
We also found that a simple smile or a friendly hello could make a difference. Sometimes, offering to explain a little about a cup was all it took to start a conversation.
